Daasanach health and life history (ongoing)

I work with the Daasanach community, a semi-nomadic pastoral group living in the arid regions of northwestern Kenya. Our research examines how extreme weather conditions and the transition toward more sedentary, market-based livelihoods affect human physical activity, energy expenditure, and cardiometabolic health. This longitudinal project is conducted in collaboration with the Kenya Medical Research Institute and the National Museums of Kenya since 2019.
